Our visions program is a collection of AFF short films that re-imagine the narrative form in exciting and innovative ways.

    An Arab woman in a burqa brings her young son to a Copenhagen police station to file a complaint against her abusive husband, but the translator seems unwilling to convey the true meaning of her words.

  2. The Living of the Pigeons

    Baha Abu Shanab / Palestine / 2015 / 17 mins
    A haunting glimpse of everyday life at a checkpoint between Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

  3. Searching for Abbas Kiarestami

    Malas Twins / France, Syria / 2015 / 12 mins
    A Syrian man carries a large photo of the Iranian director Abbas Kiarestami in the streets of Paris hoping to find him. He wants him to talk to his government about the Syrian revolution. He searches in the Iranian embassy, subways, and coffee shops but receives no answer.

    On a random afternoon at a movie theater in Casablanca a young man buys a ticket, enters the cinema, and dresses as a woman. But nothing goes as planned.

    A transfixing performance film in which artist Basma Alsharif shoots footage in Athens, Malta and the "post-civilization" of the Gaza Strip while under self-hypnosis.

    A CG animated film exploring tactile senses linked to the harsh reality of a place and culture unattainable.
